Over the last two weeks weather permitting the outdoor
Christmas lights went up and the day after Thanksgiving so did the Christmas
tree. Then it was time to tackle the indoor decorations. I do these all by
myself with only occasional help from hubby, when needed. It is taking me
longer this year because I purchased a number of new decorations (that I am
altering one way or another) including a new wreath for the front door and one
in the kitchen.
Not quite all of the decorating is done, but I had to
stop so that I can get started on making Christmas cards. I made cards once
before at Christmas 2 or 3 years ago and I want to do it again. It took me
several hours to get the first one made, but that was partly because of my not
quite knowing what I wanted to do. And then when I figured that out, I had embellishment
malfunctions. Thank goodness I don’t have very many to make.
I am a self-taught mixed media artist. I like to experiment with whatever takes my fancy at the moment. Paper and fabric make up a big part of my art. However, it is not unusual to find beads, paint, metal, polymer clay or found objects in my work. Handmade books and mini albums, Art Quilts, Art Dolls, ATC's, Fabric Books, and Needlefelting make up the majority of my work.
