I'm Still Here

Just poking my head in to say I’m still here. I’ve been down and out the past couple of weeks with the flu and I am still not entirely back up to speed yet. Needless to say I haven’t been doing anything on the creative front or any other front as far as that goes. I am finally managing to wade through all the emails and I am just getting back into reading through the blogs.

Thanks to all of you who have continued to stop by and for your comments. Hopefully I will feel like doing something soon and have something to share with you all.

I have been busy the past few days installing software, downloading updates and doing taxes for DS. Now that his are done, I will have to start on ours, but not before taking a little time for this.

I wanted to show you the ATC that I got from Susan over at Art in Stitches. Isn’t it fabulous.

If you don’t already know, Susan has put together the Cyber Fyber Exhibition....

CYBER FYBER is an exhibition of international fiber art scheduled for January 8th through 20th, 2009. This exhibit will focus on the supportive, global community of fiber artists with whom Susan regularly shares new techniques, contemporary approaches to textiles, and finished work by Internet websites and blogs. The exhibition will include three primary areas: Fiber ATCs (Artist Trading Cards); fiber postcards; and the work of several invited artists.

This is what I am sending in return. I hope she likes it. It is mostly machine needle felted. The flower is only tacked down in the center. The cheesecloth is some that I painted. There is yarn, DMC cotton floss and also some beads.

Just Checking In Here

I have been off-line for the last couple of days due to the devastating tornado that went through town on Tuesday night. We had storms to blow through exactly one week earlier without any real consequence. We were lucky enough not to have suffered any damage as we live several miles from where the tornado went through. Others however were not so fortunate this time. Thank God, there were no deaths here, but many of you probably know through the news that there were many deaths from the huge amount of tornadoes that swept through several states that night. This small town was nearly wiped off the map by tornadoes in 1974.

I am very thankful for my being spared, but my heart goes out to all the families touched by this devastation.
